Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

truLOCAL is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to direct and coordinate the daily functions of the fulfillment centre including the pick and packaging of all customer orders, supervising of fulfillment team members, and managing the purchasing and inventory control of goods. The ideal candidate will be a hardworking, detail-oriented individual looking to grow and develop within a team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The roles and responsibilities of the Logistics Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

Daily Operations

  • Work proactively with our Consumer Experience team to ship customer orders on time and in full by managing the picking and packaging process
  • Supervise, manage and train Fulfillment Specialists according to daily fulfillment needs
  • Assist in the continued development and implementation of fulfillment processes and procedures
  • Maintain organizational cleanliness of fulfillment areas

Purchasing & Inventory

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics activities including the organization, distribution, and storage of goods
  • Build and maintain relationships, analyze and present performance data and propose issue resolution with all vendors and suppliers
  • Provide forecasts for vendors based on product sale forecasts
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory control and costs with anticipation of fluctuations by analyzing reports, seasonal variations and other data
  • Manage inventory control on receiving, usage and put away processes; assist with inventory count and check as needed
  • Manage weekly and monthly inventory reconciliation and troubleshoot to resolve discrepancies
  • Work with the finance team on reconciliations and invoicing discrepancies

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma
  • 1-3 years related experience
  • Supervisory experience of staff
  • Candidate must portray strong leadership skills, and the ability to create new ideas
  • Able to lift and move up to 50lbs.
  • Basic understanding of MS software, including Outlook, Word & Excel
