Cold-Smoked Tuna (1/2 Loin)

These smoked albacore tuna fillets are so full of amazing flavour that they will have you wondering why you ever ate tuna any other way. These half fillets of wild tuna were caught using only hook and line methods off the West Coast of Vancouver Island. They were smoked by our friends at Organic Ocean and have only three ingredients: albacore tuna, salt, and natural hardwood smoke. That’s good news for those looking for amazing flavour, protein, and nutrients without unnecessary stuff ike preservatives to get in the way. Organic Ocean preserves their smoked tuna with natural hardwood smoke, the way that it has been done for centuries. 

 

COOKING TIP: This product is ready to eat as a delicious snack or meal as soon as it is thawed ─ if you can wait that long! In our opinion, the only thing that can make this tuna better is heating it to open up the true flavours. We recommend 5 minutes in a 350 ℉ oven, a quick sear in a frying pan, or even 30 seconds in a microwave to give it just a quick warm up. As mentioned, this could be easily enjoyed as a snack but it would also make an incredible meal when served with roasted veggies and scoop of garlic mashed potatoes. Yum!
