Wild-Caught Blue Shrimp
Blue shrimp are prized for their large size, distinct sweet flavour, and a firm texture. Our wild-caught blue shrimp are easy to peel and come from our friends at Organic Ocean, a company that cares a lot about sustainability. Blue shrimp is not available locally so Organic Ocean works with the local communities from the Sea of Cortez to harvest the shrimp in small wind-powered boats which results in the lowest by-catch & CO2 rates of any fishery in the world! They are also the only Fair Trade certified shrimp in the world! That makes us very proud but we also just love their shrimp!
COOKING TIP: Our wild-caught blue shrimp can be used in the same ways that you would use other types of shrimp but we recommend thawing them in a bowl overnight for the best results. Blue shrimp are amazingly versatile and can be pan fried, stir fried, boiled, baked, grilled, poached, sauteed, or battered and fried. They cook quickly in only a few minutes and start turning pinkish and curl into a letter C shape when they are just about done. Now you can eat them as is or add them to a salad, shrimp scampi, or a delicious shrimp paella.
