You’ve been asking, and we’re so excited that it’s finally here! Grass-fed, grass-finished beef liver from Artisan Farms is officially on the menu. Known as “nature’s multivatmin”, liver is an incredibly nutrient-dense cut that’s not only good, but also good for you. Loaded with vitamin B12, vitamin A, copper, riboflavin (B2), folate (B9), and iron, the health benefits are undeniable.
Artisan Farms are one of the pioneers in sustainability and "clean" farming practices! The key to sustainability is proper usage of land. Artisan Farms requires a minimum two acres of land per animal; this way the fields aren’t exhausted, carbon neutrality is ensured and manure is recycled to function as fertilizer. To further promote their belief in sustainability Artisan Farms is actively involved in the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef.
WHAT DOES 100% GRASS FED MEAN? While the majority of cattle spend most of their lives in a pasture eating grass before being sent to a feedlot for grain-finishing, 100% grass-fed beef cattle remain on a pasture eating grass and hay. This results in the unique taste and texture of 100% grass fed grass finished beef.
COOKING TIP: Approximately two hours before cooking, place the liver in a shallow bowl, cover it with milk, and refrigerate – letting the meat soak in milk for as long as possible will remove a lot of the bitter flavour!Start Building My Box
