truLOCAL Team: Back to School!

truLOCAL has always been all about transparency - from the products to the suppliers to our very own team! This month we sat down with three more members of the truLOCAL crew to talk everything back to school!

Alen, Expansion Specialist

Did you like going back to school in September? Why?

I loved going back to school in September because I got to see my friends and start up school sports again :)

What was your favourite recess activity?

My favourite recess activity as a kid was to play soccer (in grade school), hang out and catch up with friends, and play card games during lunch (highschool).

What was your least favourite subject in school?

My least favourite subject in school was English. It takes me forever to write something up and I usually edit the same paragraph 100 times over before submitting it.

What would your “school stereotype” be? (ie. Class clown, jock, nerd, etc.)

I think my school stereotype would have been a jock. I was involved with sports my entire life and formed most of my close friendships from playing sports throughout the year.

Did you like going back to school in September? Why?

As much as I loved having the summer off, I did like going back to school in September!

I always looked forward to going back to school shopping, finding out who my teacher was, and who would be in the same class.

I also really liked being able to catch up with friends that I missed over the summer! :) 

What was your favourite recess activity?

Playing four square or hanging out with friends on the playground!

What was your least favourite subject in school?

Math! :( 

What would your “school stereotype” be? (ie. Class clown, jock, nerd, etc.)

Being that kid with way too many coloured gel pens!

Did you like going back to school in September? Why?

Going back to school was always bittersweet. I enjoyed seeing my friends and learning, but it meant I couldn’t spend all day exploring the nearby forest or playing video games.

What was your favourite recess activity?

I was always trying to find a way to stay inside to play Magic: The Gathering or trying to hide the swords we made out of sticks from the teachers

What was your least favourite subject in school?

English. 

What would your “school stereotype” be? (ie. Class clown, jock, nerd, etc.)

I was definitely the class nerd, organizing computer or gaming clubs and hosting math parties to reteach my entire class days before the exam
