Smoked Boneless Ham
How much do you know about ham? We have learned a lot about meat - things like typical hams are made with two muscles of the leg: the inside round and outside round. Some other hams may use different muscles but this ham is the traditional that you know and love. It's made with pork raised in Simcoe, Ontario by Townsend Butchers. They brine it and smoke it so it's precooked! Ham's leaner compared to the belly or bacon, but fattier than a pork chop. This specific ham is smoked after curing for extra flavour.
COOKING TIP: Since it is already cooked, you can let it thaw in the fridge and then slice it thin and put it straight in a sandwich. Or dice it up and add it to your breakfast omelette with some cheese. You can also heat it up the whole ham in a pan with 1-1.5 inches of water and cover in tin foil to serve it whole for the perfect holiday dinner. PS. Brown sugar-glazed carrots make the perfect side dish.
