Grass-fed and Finished Stewing Beef
Heritage Cattle Co.'s 100% grass-fed, grass-finished stewing beef is a combination of round roast, flat roast, and sirloin tip roast pieces. Their family farm in Keene, Ontario uses a "Test Verified" system, which tests for any antibiotic residue, developed with advice from Professional Veterinarians and experts from the University of Guelph.
COOKING TIP: Stewing beef is made for, well, stewing. These chunks of juicy meat need time to cook to become the tender, bite size pieces of beef they're destined to be. Pro tip: searing the stewing beef until they're evenly brown before adding in stock (or water) makes all the difference to creating a flavourful stew. Serve it with roast vegetables, rice, or even on top of egg noodles.
