Wild-Caught Halibut
Wild-caught in Newfoundland, this halibut from the folks at Afishionado Fishmongers is also Marine Stewardship Council Certified, which means it meets the international best practice for sustainable fishing. When it comes to the taste and texture of wild-caught halibut, it has a mild, slightly sweet flavour, and a firm texture. If you're just starting to try more seafood, this is a good place to start. Halibut meat contains nutrients that assist with heart healthy, such as selenium, magnesium, niacin, and omega-three fatty acids. It is also high in protein.
COOKING TIP: Halibut’s firm texture and mild flavour make it incredibly versatile. Brush with olive oil, season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon, then grill or pan-sear for 3–4 minutes per side until opaque and flaky. For extra freshness, top with a salsa of diced tomato, cucumber, red onion, and herbs, or try a drizzle of garlic butter with a sprinkle of parsley. Simple, bright, and perfect for any season.
*Note - Due to the oily nature of some seafood, we cannot guarantee vacuum-seal for seafood products.
