Grass-Fed and Finished Striploin Steak
The Striploin or New York Strip is a steakhouse classic. With an exceptionally robust beefy flavor and combined juiciness this striploin steak is sure to lend its versatility to an array of culinary adventures. Known for its fine grain and firm texture, the striploin has slightly less marbling than a ribeye while still providing the beefy flavour and satisfying tenderness of a ribeye. Cut from the short loin section of the cow this area does minimal work, contributing to the steak’s tenderness. These 100% grass fed striploin steaks are supplied to us by our friends at West Grey Premium Meats in Mount Forest, ON, just south of Durham.
COOKING TIP: For best results, bring the steak to room temperature and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper, then sear in a hot pan (steak should sizzle) for 2-3 minutes per side, flipping until desired doneness. Baste with garlic butter in the last minutes for extra flavor. Let rest 5-8 minutes before serving. Pair with roasted asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes.
