Convenience is the cornerstone of what we do. Since day one, we’ve wanted you to put incredible, locally-sourced products on your dinner table, or in your lunchbox, or out for weekend brunch. We’ve wanted it to be as simple and easy as possible for the person supporting these wonderful local farms in our flourishing digital age – you. E-commerce is constantly changing – and with it, the ways to best and most conveniently service the people who matter most to us – our customers.
We’ve always shipped individually vacuum-sealed, blast-frozen, local products directly to your door on dry ice. But, sometimes, that’s not always the most convenient option. Perhaps you live in a condo building with restricted access, or your home faces a busy street. Maybe you need assistance to get your box inside, and would prefer to plan ahead for some help. You’ve given us your feedback, and we’ve heard you loud and clear! We’re so thrilled to announce that starting July 17th, 2019, we’ve partnered with Penguin Pickup to offer multiple pick-up locations, completely tailored to where you live.
You can now choose your nearest or most easily accessible Penguin Pickup location – meaning that getting your truLOCAL box just got a whole lot easier! You’ll have multiple options to choose from, so you can tailor your pickup location to suit you best – whether that means picking up your box on the way home from work, or on the way to visit a friend or significant other. We’ve made it simple to select your pickup location – so you’ll always know exactly where your box is, and when you can pick it up.
Think it couldn’t get any better? This isn’t your only feedback we’ve heard! Over the next few months, you’ll see us roll out pilots of many new projects and ideas you’ve been asking for. While we can’t spill the beans (or cut the steak?) quite yet, we can hardly contain our excitement to launch some highly requested initiatives throughout the rest of 2019. It’s an exciting time to be part of truLOCAL, as we evolve to meet the growing and shifting needs of our customer base and online community.

1. You prefer the peace of mind of picking up your package yourself, and you have a location nearby
2. Your apartment building or condo does not have a concierge or does not accept food deliveries
3. You have hungry neighbours or you face a busy street, and you're worried about your package going missing
4. It works best for your lifestyle - you have a pickup location on your way home from the gym or childcare
5. You need assistance getting the box inside/into the freezer, and you want to plan ahead for help
