Extra Lean Ground Chicken
It's all in the name! Extra lean ground chicken, is well, extra lean. Low in fat and gluten-free, this lean option comes from chickens raised in New Dayton, AB courtesy of Kingsland Hutterite Colony.
COOKING TIP: Stuffed bell peppers are a delicious low fat, low carb meal option. Just sauté the extra lean ground chicken with some chopped onions and garlic until it's fully cooked. You'll want to keep stirring the meat so it doesn't form clumps (which is common with leaner ground meats). Season it with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and some chilli flakes if you like a bit of spice. You can even mix in some beans and corn if they're handy! Stuff your bell peppers with the sautéed extra lean ground chicken and top it with cheese before finishing them off in the oven. Baked meatballs or burgers are also never a bad idea.
