Grassfed Tenderloin Steak

Filet mignons are one of the most tender steaks found on a cow. Cut from the tip of the tenderloin, they are prized for their buttery soft texture, lack of marbling, and melt-in-your-mouth experience. Our 100% grass-fed and finished filet mignons are from our friends at Ferme d’ORée who take pride in their high-quality, sustainably responsible beef that is raised without the use of antibiotics, hormones, or synthetic pesticides. Grass-fed and finished means that the steaks will be leaner, firmer, and slightly earthy flavour compared to grain-finished beef. Grass-fed beef has more Omega-3. If you like tender, soft-textured steaks with almost no fat, this grass-fed filet mignon is the perfect steak for you. If you prefer more marbling or fat on your steak, look for a striploin or ribeye. 

 

COOKING TIP: This lean cut cooks quickly but can be cooked in any manner you prefer for your steaks: grill, skillet, or oven. Sous vide machines are perfect to ensure that this steak is perfectly cooked to your liking before tossing it on a grill for that perfect surface char. If you don’t have a sous vide, we recommend a hot cast-iron skillet or barbecue. No matter how you cook it, make sure that you have a meat thermometer to make sure that the internal temperature reads 130-135°F for medium-rare or up to 140°F for medium.
