This hot smoked salmon was proudly made in Bedford Nova Scotia, by the women-owned Afishionado Fishmongers. They use the world's most sustainably raised salmon from Sustainable Blue, a zero-waste facility in Burlington Nova Scotia, at the tip of the Bay of Fundy. Containing only three ingredients, salt, sugar and smoke, this delicious and flaky hot smoked salmon is a versatile treat, that also happens to be really good for you. Salmon is a great lean protein source, and is rich in heart healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. It’s called hot smoked becuase of the temperature of smoking process, not because its spicy. SERVING SUGGESTIONS: This hot smoked salmon has a different texture as compared to cold smoked lox that is typically eaten with bagels and cream cheese. It's a fully cooked portion, that can be flaked or cut into smaller servings. We love it added to dips, sandwiches, pastas, chowders, salad, or grain bowls. For a fast, tasty, and nutritious meal, combine this hot smoked salmon with a cup of cooked brown rice, a boiled egg, some sliced red onion, half an avocado, sesame seeds, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of lime!
