COOKING TIPS: There are several ways to cook a tomahawk steak such as pan-searing, oven roasting, sous-vide, or grilling but, because this is such a thick steak, we recommend a combination of high heat (for the perfect crust) and slower heat (for the perfectly cooked inside). Your best options are to either grill it on your BBQ or sous-vide and then sear it. We like the sous-vide because the entire super thick steak is cooked perfectly and then it’s just kissed by a hot grill or skillet for a caramelized crust. If you don’t have a sous-vide, no worries. Toss your hawk on a medium-high grill and cook it directly over the flame for a few minutes to achieve those coveted grill marks, then move it to indirect heat to finish cooking to your desired doneness. Regardless of the method you choose, remember to use a meat thermometer and let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving to allow the juices to redistribute evenly.
