Coho Salmon Fillet
Coho Salmon are a mild-flavoured, lean fish similar to Atlantic salmon. Springhill’s Farm salmon are raised on the family’s small-scale farms in Grey County, located in southwestern Ontario. The salmon enjoy plentiful fresh water, low stocking densities, and sustainable diets. Their rich taste makes them a delightful choice for the whole family. Coho salmon are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids and other essential nutrients such as vitamin D, while being low in cholesterol.
COOKING TIP: Coho salmon is lean and delicate, so a great way to cook it is by using a low and slow method in the oven. Roast it at 275°F (135°C) for about 15 to 20 minutes, depending on thickness. This gentle approach helps preserve its moisture and prevents it from drying out. Before cooking, you can brush the fillet with a bit of olive oil or a thin layer of mayo or yogurt to keep it tender. Adding lemon slices or fresh herbs like dill or tarragon on top brings a fresh aromatic note without overpowering the fish. Let it cook undisturbed until it is just opaque in the center.
