Prime Rib Roast

  • 1 Roast

Located just north of Kitchener, ON, West Grey Premium Beef brings you this juicy prime rib roast. Also known as a standing rib roast, a prime rib roast comes from the same primal cut as a ribeye steak, so you can expect lots of flavour and lots of marbling. This cut is perfect for a large-format meal. It's also great when you want to just toss the roast in the oven and forget about it while working on some delicious sides.

COOKING TIP: Unlike a ribeye, which is a steak cut, the prime rib roast is well, a roast. The oven is your best option for this specific bone-in roast. Here are a few pro tips. 1. Make sure your roast is at room temperature before putting it in the preheated oven. 2. Slow roast it before finishing it in a hot oven. So, take the roast out when it reaches an internal temperature of 110°F for medium-rare and then let it sit. The temperature will continue to increase to about 125°F while it sits. Then, finish the roast at a higher temperature in the oven right before serving to get the outside perfectly golden brown.
