Lamb has arrived in BC!

Introducing three new ways to love lamb in BC.


Lamb is delicious, healthy, and packed with protein and flavour. Despite it often being referred to as an alternative to beef, we feel lamb stands on its own merits. Our customers have been asking for lamb in our marketplace and we are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Two Rivers Meats to offer lamb to our BC marketplace. We hope ewe will add it to your next box and we’re sheer you’ll love it (sorry, those puns were baaad). This grain finished lamb is Halal certified and antibiotics and hormone free.

A whole new category and products for BC.

BC has a lot of great options from local producers such as fresh fish to great local pork and beef but adding lamb to our lineup means we are adding a whole new category of protein to our marketplace. You can now add lamb chops, ground lamb, and lamb stewing meat to your order in BC.

Lamb chops

Technically, it is a Lamb Short Loin T-bone Chop but we call it lamb chop for short. Lamb chops offer variety to your weekly meals with their distinctively rich and savoury flavour. The bone marrow infuses the chop with richness, elevating the overall eating experience. Some people describe the subtle flavour difference as “gamey,” but we think it is slightly inaccurate. We describe it as grassy, well-balanced, robust, and pastoral. While beef has a more robust and earthy flavour, lamb offers a unique combination of tenderness, juiciness, and a slight hint of something different. 

Ground Lamb

You are likely familiar with how incredibly versatile ground beef is. Versatility is its strength and because you can substitute ground lamb in any recipe calling for ground beef, lamb is just as versatile. It can make tacos, burgers, meatloaves, meatballs, pasta sauces, and more. The benefit of lamb over beef is a slight difference in flavour to keep your guests wondering how you made such great burgers (or whatever you made with it). It will keep them guessing. 

Lamb Stewing Meat

This product probably needs a better name (lol) but it is exactly what it sounds like: lamb stewing meat. This is chunks of lamb meat that are pre-cut to the perfect size for stews and stir-fries but is also great in chili. These pieces of lamb are perfect for slow cooking in a stew or even as part of a lamb kabob. Lamb is just as healthy as beef (depending on what you prioritize): compared to beef, lamb is higher in healthy fatty acids, like CLA and omega-3, but lower in vitamins, like B12 and zinc.

Why Lamb?

Lamb is incredibly versatile and brings a unique flavour to whatever recipe you use it for. It is higher in healthy fatty acids than beef and just as versatile.
