Grass Fed and Finished Beef Seasoned Rump Roast
This isn't just any rump roast. You see, Heritage Cattle Co. does things the old fashion way: they raise their cattle on a family farm in Keene, ON, just south of Peterborough without the use of added hormones or antibiotics. Their cattle are free to roam on open pasture and 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. Cut from the bottom round (also known as the outside round), the rump roast is on the leaner side of the roast family. This particular roast is seasoned with a simple blend of pepper, onion, and garlic.
COOKING TIP: This is the perfect choice for a one pot dish. Whether it's a dutch oven, slow cooker, or pressure cooker, just add carrots, potatoes, onions, and some water and call yourself a chef! The key to getting each bite as tender as possible is to cut thin slices against the grain. PS. This lean cut is the way to go if you want to make some beef jerky at home.
