Mini Ham
This fully-cooked, smoked ham comes from our friends at Hopcott located in Pitt Meadows, BC. Ham is cut from the leg section of a pig, trimmed, and smoked. Compared to other fattier cuts of pork, ham is fairly lean, very flavourful, and is a real crowd-pleaser for both dinner and leftovers. Hopcott pork is raised without hormones, as per Canadian regulation, and are grain fed a vegetarian blend of wheat, barley and corn. Their primary protein sources include canola and soybean meal.
COOKING TIP: This ham is fully cooked so you could thaw it and eat slice by slice out of the fridge (we don’t judge, we’ve all been there) but if you want to really impress someone, you will have to make a roasted ham. Don’t worry, it’s actually easy to do. Preheat the oven to 325℉ and remove the ham from any packaging. Choose either a roasting pan, a covered oven-safe dish, or just plain ol’ tin foil to wrap the ham with before cooking it for about 90 minutes or until the internal temperature exceeds 140℉. Allow it to rest for about 15 minutes and then slice it and serve. We like our ham topped with grainy mustard and served beside green beans and pretty much any style of potato (scalloped, mashed, baked, fries, etc).
