Broccoli Florets
The folks at Stahlbush make it easier to get your 5 to 10 a day by cleaning, cutting, and blanching sustainably grown fresh broccoli before they flash freeze in all that sun ripened green goodness. Broccoli is a good source of folate, beta-carotene, B vitamins, iron, magnesium, and zinc. The couple behind Stahlbush farms, Bill and Karla Chambers, are passionate about good food and still actively manage the day-to-day business. Check out Karla's artwork, a beautiful painting of Douglas firs, farms and mountains, on the front of the broccoli package!
SERVING SUGESTIONS: These broccoli florets can be steamed from frozen in boiling water on your stovetop in about 2-3 minutes. Try adding this broccoli to your soups and casseroles! We love to serve out family broccoli and cheese sauce. First whisk a cup of milk and a TBL of corn starch together, then bring to a simmer and constantly stir until thickened. Turn the heat down, and melt in a cup of shredded cheddar, and a TBL of parmesan cheese. Add salt and pepper to taste. Even the pickiest eaters will devour this broccoli if you smother it in this cheese sauce!
