truLOCAL Stands in Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples Across Canada

We are deeply saddened by the devastating recent events and the injustices that Indigenous peoples continue to face as a result of the Residential School Systems in Canada and the United States. With truLOCAL’s head office situated on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee (Ho-deh-no-show-nee), Anishinaabe (Ah-nish-nah-bay), and Neutral People, we recognize that there is so much more we need to learn. At truLOCAL, we recognize and honour the heritage and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

This Canada Day, we are taking the time to educate ourselves and encouraging others to do the same. We challenge our community to participate in open dialogue about the injustices that Indigenous peoples continue to face, in order to do our part to shift closer to reconciliation. It is so important to continue learning during, and beyond, Indigenous History Month.
