The best steaks in Canada.

Answering the question: what’s the best steak delivery near me?

Steak, yummy, juicy, tender steak. Nothing showcases the best of beef better than a thick, perfectly cooked steak (ideally with a glass of red wine). If you love talking steak, truLOCAL has a lot of different resources about which steaks might be your favourite, and tips on how to cook steak. TruLOCAL carries a lot of different cuts of steak from all around Canada. We offer steaks local you you no matter where you live in Canada so let’s check out what steaks are available in each region.

We are not going to spend a lot of time describing individual steaks or the differences between what the cattle eat in this article. If you need help choosing the right cut of steak for you, head on over to our article on the differences between popular steak cuts. If you want to know more about the differences between grass-fed and grain-fed cattle, find out more by reading the pros and cons of grass-fed beef or, even better, grill up one of each and let your mouth decide. If you already kinda know what you like in a steak, let us take you on a stroll across the nation and talk about which steaks you need to try in your area!

British Columbia

Because truLOCAL only delivers amazing steaks directly to your door, it’s easy to understand why BC residents love great steak. If you prefer grass-fed, we carry many different grass-fed steaks including popular steaks like sirloin, striploin, and ribeye. Grass-fed beef has a slightly earthier flavour, less marbling, and a firmer texture. Grain-fed cattle eat grass most of their lives but are fed grain at the end of their lives. Many people prefer grain-fed steaks because of the beefy flavour, more tender texture, and higher fat content. We carry grain-fed steaks including top sirloin, striploin, ribeye, and filet mignon. You can even get bite-sized piece of filet mignon by ordering our tenderloin bites. They're great for chili, salads, or stir fries. Is "stir fries" the acceptable pluralization of the word stir fry? We're going with it...

Alberta

Alberta is known for its world-famous beef so if you live in Alberta and love steak, you’ll have no problem finding some great ones at truLOCAL. We have all of your favourite grass-fed steak cuts like striploin, ribeye, filet mignon, chuckeye, and flat iron. If you prefer grain-fed steaks, try our top sirloin, filet mignon, or, if you are in a rush, our fast-fry steak (it's a regular steak but thinner for faster cooking).

I have to admit that I am pretty jealous of our Alberta customers because they now have access to our premium level steaks. These AAA or better grade steaks are all raised without antibiotics, steroids, or hormones, and are grain finished (my personal preference because it usually means a juicier, fattier steak but we can save my personal opinions for a different blog) in Alberta. Choose between our ribeye, striploin, top sirloin, or filet mignon. You'll find them on our products page for Alberta customers (look for the dark plates in the image - something only reserved for AB's premium steaks).

Alberta is truly ahead of the herd when it comes to steaks from animals other than cattle. Beef is great but what if you are in the mood for something different. Alberta has fantastic beef alternative steak options, such as bison ribeye, as well as some non-traditional cuts that are kinda similar to steak, such as pork chops, wild boar chops, or lamb chops

Ontario

truLOCAL customers in Ontario are blessed with some great local beef producers that provide us with some fantastic steaks. As you would expect, we have a variety of grass-fed options, such as top sirloin, striploin, ribeye, filet mignon, and skirt steak to satisfy any steak lover. If you prefer your steaks to be from grain-fed cattle, try our top sirloin, striploin, ribeye, or filet mignon. The are all incredibly tender and juicy. One of our best steaks, despite its name sounding less-than-premium, is our fast fry steak. It has all the amazing flavour and marbling as our regular striploins but is cut a bit thinner so that it cooks faster. I think that it is the best deal for a steak that we have and it never disappoints.

If you want to steer away from beef, we have a buffalo ribeye that is leaner than beef and has a flavour that is very similar to beef but just slightly ... different. We highly recommend it, especially if your know-it-all brother in law comes over for dinner.

Quebec

Although steak is called “bifteck” in Quebec, our truLOCAL steaks are still the same high level of quality as our other regions. We offer some fantastic grass-fed, grain-finished options like ribeye, top sirloin, striploin, fast-fry striploin, flank steak, or tenderloin.

What could be better than steak? Getting them delivered right to you door! Hmm, or maybe bacon getting delivered in the same box… Either way, it’s good to know that each of the truLOCAL regions of Canada have the most popular cuts of steak (sirloin, striploin, ribeye, and filet mignon) as well as some other great options to offer our steak-loving customers (seriously, try our pork chops). The best way to learn about steak is by trying them so cook up two different steaks and compare. Let us know what you think because we love talking about steak almost as much as eating it. Share your steak-related questions, comments, or images on facebook or instagram. When it comes to steak, the only mistake is a missed steak. No need to wonder: what's the best steak near me?
